CSS Remembers Frank Ebersberger

It is with great regret that we announce the loss of another CSS member.  Frank Ebersberger passed away on March 7 after suffering a massive heart attack in late February.  Frank was active with CSS from 2009 through 2011 but had to sit out the 2012 season due to a shoulder injury.  Frank E (as he was affectionately known around here) was about as positive a person as you’ll ever meet and knowing him enriched all of our lives.  We will miss his great optimism, generosity and sense of humor.  Frank was 78 years old.  Soar in Peace, Frank!

  1. Frank I remember the time like it was yesterday, you were helping clean out the Scout hangar and you told us stories of working for the airlines. Ill never forget that. Please say Hi to Dick and all the other CSS members that have passed on. With out them we would'nt be here soaring together.

  2. Flyers! We lost a Gentlemen of the Feathered Kind.
Too much, is just too much. We have lost someone interesting, someone kind. It is even hard to understand the weight of the loss. I have only known one other soft-spoken person, like Frank in my experience. Frank E. lives on in our mind. The gentle disposition of Frank burns in my mind.
In Sympathy, George Ponti and family

  3. In the short span of time that I had known Frank, he gave me the impression of a man who was gentle, affable and willing to help. He was a pleasure to be around with on the flying field. He showed an interest in my RVing activities and I encouraged him to do what I was doing, but he will be going to a campground that is much better than I could ever imagine. Godspeed and happy heavenly trails, Frank!

  4. Thank you all for your kind words. I know that my grandfather embraced everything he did and loved life immensely. Heaven is a little better with my Pappy Frank and I am happy to hear that you all were able to be a part of his life before he took that last flight.

    -Samantha Jo (Frank's Granddaughter)

  5. Thanks to all the member's of the CSS, Frank truly enjoyed doing anything that involved flying or aircraft in general. He was a great man and father and friend, Thanks again for being Frank's friend's
